Found my 5K

Perfect timing (5/22), and it's for the organization where we got Ace.

Run for Retrievers

Just need to make sure the timing works for Bryan! Yea!

112.48 Miles in 2010

3.82 miles today for Week 9, Day 1. Week 9, y'all. Did you ever think I'd get here?

I ran for 30 minutes at 5.0. Looks like that got me around 2.7 miles, so I still need to work on my speed a bit to get to 3 miles.

After c25k, it's going to about aiming for a 5K. I don't have one picked out, but I'm starting to look at the calendar. It's about to get dang hot around here, but I want to be confident that I can do the 3.1 miles outside successfully. I bet I could do it now as a push, but with a couple of more weeks of training, I think I can be there legitimately.

108.66 Miles in 2010

Sorry for the self-pity in that last post, but your comments did help. I don't want to be the girl that cares about things like that, but I guess we all are a little, huh?

Anyway, I went out on the Shoreline Trail today for 3.77 miles. I only ran about 22 minutes, then just took a nice walk home.

I had a bad week that culminated in two people over the past two days asking, "When are you due?" I still want to curl up and cry.

104.89 Miles in 2010

I collected 3.55 miles yesterday by starting Week 8 of c25k (28 minutes of running). I was very much not in the mood to go, but it ended up being a really good run. I could definitely have kept going, but I will stick to the plan for a couple of more weeks! I ran at 4.9.

My internet provider had a huge outage yesterday, so Nike+ doesn't know about this run yet.

148.4 Pounds

Goodbye 150 lbs! Hope to never see you again!

Good thing I'm losing weight... I can't stand thinking about what I'm eating so much. I think about food all. day. long.

101.34 Miles in 2010

Over 100 miles! Woo hoo!

Tonight, I did the third day of Week 7 for 3.21 miles at 4.9. I plan to start Week 8 on Tuesday.

I was sad to miss out on the March for Babies (5 miles) Saturday morning, but AJC woke up with a fever. Boo! So tonight was an unplanned workout. As such, of course, it was raining and the Rec Center is closed on Sunday. So I did a free pass to the 24Hour Fitness. Pretty amazing to have all of those facilities... there weren't any sales people there tonight, but I may go try to strike a deal some time this week. The website said it was $45/month (too much), but a friend got a deal where she and her husband are only like $55/month together. It would be so nice to have the childcare option!

Egg White Omlette

The other day, I decided to try the whole egg white omlette thing. I just added a little bit of cheese then covered it in salsa. It tasted ok, but it just wasn't enough.

Tonight, though. Holy cow this was good. And a total of 3.5 WW points. With the points I saved, I am going to go have a glass of wine!

  • 3 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup cheddar cheese
  • mushrooms
  • spinach
  • asparagus roasted in olive oil and balsamic vinegar
  • S&P
  • salsa
Eating right will definitely be easier if I can figure out the whole cooking thing. =)

3.11 miles on the treadmill today. I bumped it up to 3.9, and I think I'll do the same again next Tuesday.

I didn't make it to the Rec yesterday because the boys are home with me on Thursdays again. Bryan was gone from 7 a.m. until after 10 p.m., so there just wasn't an option to go. We went for a walk outside, but it wasn't really a workout. I'm going to miss my T/R/S schedule! Oh well - something will work out.

Tomorrow is the March for Babies. We'll be walking with a group, but I should be able to get in 5 miles for the challenge!

95.02 Miles in 2010

3.11 miles today for Week 7, Day 1! Week 7 has me running for 25 minutes, and I did it at 3.8.

Also, I am loving my new favorite gear: the running skirt. I found two at the Adidas outlet (one is actually a tennis skirt, but whatever), and they are just what I needed. Even if the bike shorts underneath ride up a little, the skirt keeps it from showing. Awesome.

91.91 Miles in 2010

I'll have to do a true update when I have my ipod handy, but Kellsey, Andrea and I went to a park near Kellsey's house to run today. I only did about 1.6, but I ran more outside than before! I was wheezing some, so maybe it's an allergy issue that's making it more difficult. My poor Nike+ girl will just have to last a few more days before I can sync up!

Edited to add that it was 1.62 miles.

90.29 Miles in 2010

2.5 miles today on my mom's treadmill. I thought I was doing the Week 6, Day 3 workout, but I got it wrong. Instead of running for 25 minutes, I ran for 23. Oops! Oh well, it was still good progress!

I'm not sure of the speeds, as Mom's treadmill doesn't display them. It just has a dial to turn it up or down. Also, no Nike+ graph yet, as I don't keep iTunes on my work laptop. I'll sync at home by Tuesday - probably before then, though.

87.79 Miles in 2010

Well, I got a bit derailed today. I am in College Station, and I had planned to use the hotel treadmill for my 25-minute run today. Alas, the treadmill was out of order.

I thought, "Fine. I'll try the elliptical." Dude, that's hard! I think I am not coordinated enough for the elliptical. 0.3 miles was enough for me.

So I did 3.5 bike miles (1 challenge mile) instead.

I'm moving to my mom's in Austin tomorrow, and she has a treadmill. I'm planning for Thursday, so we'll see.

3.01 Miles today for Week 6, Day 2. I was not feeling it, but I did it! 23-minute run coming up on Tuesday. I'll be at a hotel, so that will be different!

83.47 Miles in 2010

2.9 miles today for the Week 6, Day 1 workout. I am feeling pretty cruddy right now (I get sinus infection symptoms with PMS - ugh), and I had hoped that running would make me feel better. Proud, maybe, but definitely not better this time.

This did make me feel better, though. A challenge friend had this to say via e-mail:
I also wanted to let you know that your 20 minute run the other day really inspired me. It's impressive when [someone] runs a half marathon, but it's hard to translate that back to what I can do. You are at about the same level as I am, so your success really helped me realize that maybe I really can do it to. Thank you!

My exercise habits have never been considered encouraging before, so that is really, really cool. Thanks, friend!
