2.67 miles today at the Rec. More importantly, I achieved one of my goals: I ran a mile. For the first time since Junior High Track. For real.
Not only did I run a mile, I ran for 20 minutes straight (about a mile and a half). I'm feeling pretty darn good about myself after that! It got difficult around 17 minutes, but I was so close that it was easy to keep pushing. I ran this one at 4.8. I'll improve speed as I go.
I feel great. Thank you, thank you, thank you 500 in 2010 friends for the challenge and the rest of you for the encouragement, too. Yea!
(I do not understand how they do the pacing. How in the world would the first mile be a faster pace? Not important, just curious.)
