I did the first workout of Week 5 last night, which consists of three intervals of run 5 minutes/walk 3 minutes. The last run was a challenge, but no huge deal.
The bigger issue right now seems to be my right leg. I'm not loving how my right shoe fits or my form on that side is screwy or something. I've started getting a shin splint on that side and the inside of my right knee is getting more sore with each workout. I'm not sure how to address this - head to the running store for analysis???

I did some of my walking at 4.0 and ran at 4.8.

Go to running store first. If that is not good, go to a doctor.
I've had shin splints before (my senior year in HS actually). They are so painful! There's not a whole lot you can do for them unfortunately, other than rest, ice and stretch it. Are your shoes too old? You could be overtraining too. There's lots of reasons for them. I was overtraining when I got mine. We had a Hitler for a track coach. :) I could barely walk mine were so bad. :( I vividly remember going to prom in so much pain and having Luke holding my ice at the dance. LOL. It was so pathetic. LOL.
I would totally head to the running store. You're doing GREAT! Keep it up! :)
as the others mentioned - definitely head to a store/clinic for some analysis. The Dallas running club (if you are near there? I am not sure...) might be able to offer some advice. I hope you feel better soon - you are making awesome progress! Keep it up!
