Four (!) walk-at-home miles tonight. I copied London's method and put the DVD on our portable DVD player so I could watch something on the TiVo. I tried watching the series finale of Dollhouse, but I discovered that I couldn't concentrate on both. I watched a House repeat instead. Anyway, it passed the time better, and I stuck it out for the 4th mile.
I'm not planning to make a habit of leaving a workout until Sunday night, but I lost a lot of opportunities this week. I love that I was looking forward to finding an opportunity!

21 Miles in 2010
I did 3 Walk-at-Home miles tonight. (Miles 1, 2, and 3) They are definitely getting easier!
I still do want to try the running outside thing. It just got cold again, so I'm going to wait until it's a bit more consistent. Bryan is going to outfit me with a GPS so I can map out some distances on the trail behind our house. There are mile markers, but our house is between 3/4 and Mile 1. So I just need to measure to a mile marker, then do some math!

Ironman Watch with iControl
I bought myself a present. Woot featured the Timex Ironman iControl watches last week for $30, and I got this blue one. Pretty!
I have long since lost my old Ironman watch from high school/college, including my "The Band" from Kanakuk. Sad! So I snatched up this watch when I saw it - $30 was a good price point for me.
And guess what? It can remotely control your ipod.
When I was doing my c25k runs, I was holding my ipod. No need! Now I can just strap it somewhere and control things from this watch. I'm even thinking that I'll just use the interval timers to time the c25k walk/runs, and just listen to my own music.

3 Walk-at-Home miles over lunch today. I did miles 2, 3, and 5.
I am debating a weekly weigh-in and "before" picture. (yeesh). But how cool is it to see your own before and after... AFTER? Check out Maria - amazing!

15 Miles in 2010
3 more walk-at-home miles tonight. I did miles 3, 4, and 5. My legs are feeling strong!
That means I met my goal of 9 miles last week (Monday - Sunday). I am on the verge of being able to do more. Maybe I will get to 500 miles this year after all?
I have also been taking a new generic multi-vitamin that seems to be working better for me than the women's versions I have been taking. Too much iron just makes me ill. Even though I always tend toward anemia. Go figure!

12 miles in 2010
3 more Walk-at-Home miles during lunch today. I did miles 1, 4 and 5 - my first time to do mile 5. As it turns out, there is a cool down after all! I wondered about that. I wish they had made it separately available on the menu, but that's ok. I'll just try to end with mile 5 from now on.
My legs were tired after the last time, so I took two days off. That, and I had a headache last night. My goal seems to be solidifying into 9 miles/week. I can definitely be happy with that fitness level. I don't know how this is going to affect weight loss, but I'll jump off that bridge at another time. For now, it's good to be doing this!

9 Miles in 2010
3 Walk at Home miles tonight!
I was much more tired this time. It's nice how each mile is it's own little cycle of low, medium, and high intensity - you kind of get a break after each high bit!

Three Walk-at-Home miles tonight!
And LauraC let me know that there are a few people signed up to do 350 miles in 2010, so I committed to that!

3 Miles in 2010
So I haven't decided if I am going to commit to 500 miles in 2010 - I may have to do the JV version. =) But I've decided to title the posts with my cumulative miles for the year so far.
London had mentioned that she was doing some walk-at-home videos, so I watched some snippets on YouTube and decided to pick one up. (On sale at Target for $10!) Dude - it's not just walking. It's like going to an aerobics class.
Anyway, I did 2 miles last night. I'll do 3 next time.

Catching Up
So mostly I've been sick or pigging out for the holidays since I last posted. After that last really inspiring post, I did get moving again... until I got sick. (Excuses, excuses!)
11/22/09 - c25k Week 1 run
11/26/09 - c25k Week 1 run
...
...
...
1/13/2010 - 2000 steps (~1 mile) Wii Fit free step (I still weighed about the same as last time.)
I need a plan. It needs to be flexible, but I need a starting point. For now, I'm just trying to get back into the "do SOMETHING" mindset.
Here are my options, as I currently see them:
11/22/09 - c25k Week 1 run

Here are my options, as I currently see them:
- morning - relies on Bryan taking the boys to daycare so I can be working by 9 or so. Lately, I've been taking the boys a lot or going back to sleep to make it through the day. Or, you know, showering.
- lunch - I'm HUNGRY at lunch! This would take planning a mid-morning snack substantial enough to last through a workout. Then a lunch I could eat at my desk.
- night - needs to be after the boys are in bed and at home. Again with where do I fit in eating?
